This week, we're soldiering on with our brand new series celebrating YouTubers of Colour. Last week we couldn't get enough of YouTuber and Vine star, Jus Reign. This week, we've set our sights firmly on Asian-American YouTuber and film maker, Anna Akana.
This is Anna.

The super ambitious comedian, actress, and filmmaker has been making videos on YouTube since 2011 and now has over 1.3 million followers. One of her most viewed videos is the super emotional "Please Don't Kill Yourself" video, remembering her late sister. Since then, Anna has become a massive force to be reckoned on the platform and established herself as a top tier creator on YouTube.
Sketch comedy is her bread and butter.
But the content is always engaging, impactful, and entertaining.
She even makes learning how to check your privilege super fun.
She clearly has a unique way of looking at things, and her hilarious and dynamic short films often reflect the absurdity of every day life. Her very witty "Why Guys Like Asian Girls" video was another MVP for her and perfectly sums up the problematic concept of "yellow fever" and fetishizing asian women. Simply put, our girl is #woke.
And aside from all that, Anna is just f*cking cool. She is supportive of her YouTube peers.
She doesn't take herself too seriously.
