You’d think Jim Chapman would have enough on his plate right now; father to a brand new puppy, an up-coming wedding to YouTube babe Tanya Burr and 2.3 million subscribers to entertain. But it seems Jim has had a little secret…
Following in the footsteps of Alfie Deyes and Miranda Sings, Jim will be the latest web celeb to release a merchandise range but this one offers something a little different. Dismissing the usual route of t-shirts or books (for now), Jim is launching his very own stationary range!
Falling under the moniker of James and Friends, the range contains everything from pencil cases and stickers to ring binders and notebooks and features a super cute robot illustrated by Jim himself. Speaking of James and Friends, Jim said: "It all started with a picture that I drew about a year and a half ago… I wasn’t sure where YouTube was going to go and I wanted to make sure I had something that would stick around and still be there."
Whilst we can’t imagine people wearing their Pointless Blog beanies in ten years time, we reckon a stand alone stationary range is actually a pretty smart idea. Because who doesn’t like doodling hearts and stars? In all seriousness, we love how the range doesn't scream "YouTuber merch!" and we'd happily buy it for our moody teenage brother knowing that the robots and hilar slogans would appeal despite the fact he has no idea who Jim Chapman is.
The range will be available from Wednesday 29th July in Waterstones and Scribber, ASOS.com and a few independent stores. Congrats, Jim.
