Have you ever wondered if there is a position you can sleep in to avoid those achy, painful night cramps? Well, there is.
Glamour magazine spoke to Dr. Lisa Midley MD who revealed that sleeping in a fetal position takes pressure off of your abdominal muscles, thus helping to relieve cramps. She also confirmed that sleeping in the fetal position can relax “the skeletal muscles around your abdomen”.
So if that's the best position, then what’s the worst position for period cramps? Sleeping on your stomach is apparently what you want to avoid. It puts pressure on your muscles which might result in a not-so-pleasant night of sleep.
