Hayley Kiyoko Pretty Girl
Stranger Things

Has anyone else been noticing a strange, alien presence in their timeline recently? If so, you've probably got a few stans of Netflix's latest show, "Stranger Things", in your mutuals.

The show is about a 12-year-old boy, Will Byers, who goes missing. It soon becomes obvious that some supernatural shit is going down and his young friends start their quest to find him. If you've ever seen ET, Super8, Stand By Me, or are a fan of Stephen King's novels, then you're gonna love this.

It's also absolutely terrifying. Amazing, but, mainly terrifying.

The show follows various characters connect to the missing Will; his three friends, their families, the local sheriff, and a sinister looking government department who are trying to track down a girl with telekinetic powers, who has gone missing from one of their facilities. It's heavy with the coming-of-age nostalgia of Spielberg films and doesn't miss an opportunity to give you a heart attack, particularly in episode one which got everyone's tongue wagging (and screaming...much screaming).

If you haven't watched it yet, or you want to revisit the trauma of watching it, we've created a step-by-step guide to the hysteria caused in just the first episode.

1. At first, you'll be high on the thought of a potential new TV addiction. Nothing beats that first high.

2. Then it begins, and within seconds you'll have descended from cloud 9 into a deep pit of despair.

3. 30 seconds down and you've already physically recoiled into the corner of your sofa. That's where you will stay paralyzed for the rest of the evening.

4. One minute in and you'll let out your first hysterical scream. It will sound so unearthly, dogs will start barking in the distance and your neighbours will call the police.

5. After the first sequence, there is a relative lull in the drama. You trick yourself into thinking you're through the worst of it.

6. But you're not, far from it.

7. A lot of this.

8. Then some more of this.
