Self love club tattoo asset

Tattoo trends come and go but some are just way too inspiring not to talk about. Yes, a good "breathe" tattoo or an infinity symbol can get the conversation started but 'self love club' is the amazing new ink "club" that's combining positivity and radical self expression.

While the concept of self-love is basic enough, some of us, no doubt, need a reminder the we is kind, we is smart, and we is important.

A growing trend is emerging among tattoo lovers that is one part cool ink and two parts self-acceptance.

People are getting the phrase "self love club" tattooed on their body as a reminder to themselves to acknowledge their self worth.

The movement started with Melbourne based artist and feminist, Frances Cannon. After the artist shared her own "self love club" tattoo on Instagram earlier this year, the concept actually started gaining traction with others.

One reason it has resonated is likely because of how essential self-acceptance is to mental health recovery.

Cannon says there are only 3 rules in the self love club:

You must always show yourself respect, love, forgiveness, and understanding.
You must show each other respect, love, forgiveness, and understanding.
You must be kind to your body, and you must take care of your mental health.
