The Chainsmokers All We Know
Messy Room

Next time your mum calls you out for not making your bed in the mornings or leaving that pile of clothes on the floor, sit her down, show her this article and then bask in all your glory, messy friends!

According to various research studies, having a cluttered desk and/or an untidy bedroom in general means you’re waaay more creative and innovative than the average neat freak!

Yaaaaas! Read it and weep, parents!

You know how people always say that being organised is a major key to success in life? They never ever seem to bring up the whole 'organised chaos' vibes though, do they? Well, the jokes on them.

According to a study carried out at the University of Minnesota, research found, “that a clean setting leads people to do good things: Not engage in crime, not litter, and show more generosity,” It continues, “We found, however, that you can get really valuable outcomes from being in a messy setting.”

YA HEAR THAT? Being messy doesn’t actually stunt your productivity; people who tended to be more messy were more creative with their ideas, willing to think outside of the box and generally more innovative than those who like to keep things in order. So, kiss goodbye to that ‘Tidy room, tidy mind’ malarky.

“Disorderly environments seem to inspire breaking free of tradition, which can produce fresh insights.”

So, that pile of clothes in the corner of your room? CREATIVE GENIUS!

This isn't to say that all you perfectly organised Pinterest baes aren't any less intelligent but science doesn't lie, does it? VICTORY FOR ORGANISED CHAOS!

But like, obviously don't go home tonight and completely TRASH your room because that's not how it works. You can't fake genius, guys. It must come naturally to you, young Jedi.
