Yesterday in a round table interview with journalists, including PopBuzz, Meghan Trainor defended Jennifer Lopez for working with Dr Luke.
Meghan co-wrote Lopez' latest single "Aint Your Mama" and the track was produced by Dr Luke, who has been accused by Kesha of rape and sexual assault.
Many criticised Lopez for working with Dr Luke, saying it undermined the themes of empowerment that the song was trying to express. When PopBuzz asked whether that criticism was fair, Meghan sad she thought it was "ridiculous".
"Not at all. I texted her the song. And she had no idea. She thought I did it alone, by myself, at my house, which a lot of people would think because I do do that. So I just sent it to her and said ‘do you like this song?’ and she said ‘I love this song, my kid loves this song and he’s made me play it five time now so I know it’s a hit, when can I cut it?’ And I said immediately, whenever you want. I’m glad you like it."
Trainor went on to reveal that it's one of three songs that's she written for Lopez' new album.
"I gave her three songs so far and that was one of them. And for the American Idol, we thought [Ain't Your Mama] was the best one that mixes with her. But I felt terrible when she got all the hate for that and I just thought it was ridiculous."
Come back for the full interview on PopBuzz later today.
