Lauren Jauregui Anxiety Video

We're sure all fans have good intentions when it comes to asking for selfies with their favourite artists, but yet ANOTHER recent event has brought to light a pretty serious issue about respecting artists' personal space and it's just not acceptable.

This past weekend, it was Lauren Jauregui from Fifth Harmony that broke down over a group of fans who all wanted to take a picture with her at an airport.

The video appeared to show Lauren walking through the airport on her own, with no security

She then went back to visit a group of fans who then hounded her for pictures - even after she broke down in tears.

The hashtag #RespectLauren began trending soon after the video was posted, and Twitter was quick to point out the faults of the fans in question.

While we're hesitant to share this video - as Lauren clearly asks her fans to stop recording and taking pictures of her in the video - like we said, it brings to light an important point about respecting artists' personal space.

A few months ago, Melanie Martinez asked a fan to stop taking pictures of her whilst she signed an autograph. Many fans were split in their decision as to whether Melanie was right or not. Similarly, Justin Bieber announced he was 'done taking pictures' with "fans" due to his own sanity.

There's an argument in there somewhere about the fact that dealing with fans comes as part of the 'fame' package but it's a weak one considering the mounting conversations about artists' mental health that are coming in to play. (Lauren has also spoken about her own personal struggles with anxiety in the past.)

It goes without saying that certain fans need to take a step back and realise that these artists - who are actually only a few years older than they are - are real life humans, who may in fact suffer from the very same problems that they do. Anxiety.

Time to chill out, y'all! You not getting a selfie isn't the end of the world.
