All of us know that feeling of settling into a weird routine. Maybe you go to the same store every day at 4 pm and all the cashiers know you by name. Maybe you order the same take out every day and all the staff know your whole life. Well, that's what happened to Oregon resident, Kirk Alexander. And that's also how his life was saved.
Alexander has ordered pizza from the same Dominos store in Salem, Oregon for the last decade. Yup, that's right. That means that, if Kirk has ordered a pizza every week for the last 10 years, he's consumed over 500 pizzas. AKA, the textbook definition of a loyal customer.
After ordering a pizza regularly for a decade, Dominos employees immediately noticed that something had gone wrong once the calls stopped. Kirk went 11 days without ordering a pizza from Dominos. Probably a personal record.
Instead of assuming Kirk had left town or decided to cut pizza out of his diet, a Dominos employee drove all the way to Kirk's house, thought the vibe was suss and called 911. As it turns out, Kirk was suffering from a potentially life threatening health condition. Basically, that Dominos delivery person is a hero (sidenote: Aren't all fast food delivery people heroes?).
Moral of the story: cultivate a routine so predictable that people start to think you've died if they don't see you for 11 days.
In order to celebrate our pal, Kirk's genius life choices, here are 5 pizza gifs to celebrate the healing power of a pizza based relationship.
