So, in case you didn't get the very important memo, the Hello Kitty Diner is a thing. Yes, a thing that really really exists. It's currently operating in Australia but there are plans to bring it to the UK this summer, as well. And that matters, a lot.
If you were a kid at any point over the last 40 years, Hello Kitty was, undoubtedly, an icon you couldn't escape.
She sat on lunch boxes, made her mark upon countless backpacks, and looked bomb AF on pencil cases. At 42 years old, Sanrio's Hello Kitty is estimated to have a 7 billion dollar net worth. Now, residents of Australia and the UK will be able to get their life from the Hello Kitty Diner.
Miss Kitty is making her grand debut June 1, 2016 at London Soho's boutique bakery, Cutter & Squidge , where she will remain until the end of August. No doubt this is a little test run to see if the beloved character should take up permanent residence in London but a summer excursion is definitely welcome.
I know what you're thinking. That's fine and all, but what will you be able to eat there? Surely not backpacks and pencil cases, right? No word yet on a set menu, but the sisters who own the cafe say that on June 1st they will "debut a very special Hello Kitty Secret Garden inside our shop, open for a sumptuous Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea. We will also be carrying a range of oh so cute Hello Kitty goodies for fans to feast on."
If the Hello Kitty Diner Australia is anything to go by...
1) You can cop one of these...
2) Treat yo self to this bad boy.
3) Or fall dangerously in love with this.
But we're only speculating.
Basically, the whole thing has got us like:
THERE'S GONNA BE A HELLO KITTY POP UP CAFE IN LONDON WHO'S UP FOR POTENTIALLY QUEUING FOR AGES TO GO THERE WITH ME— bowlcuts do not suck (@sugoimoto) May 13, 2016
