The proposal goes.

"Set in 1970s New York, the series will explore the drug-and sex-fuelled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound."

So, basically.

If you're not already familiar with the Joy Division Manchester film classic, here's the IMDB bio.

Yep, it's the same. But we're definitely not complaining because a New York version will be AWESOME.

After all, it's a city that has given us Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen, Miles Davis, Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, The Ramones, Blondie, David Bowie and many more.

If you're looking for some tips on the 1970s music scene in New yOrk, you can swot up with this book, 'Love Goes To Buildings On Fire' by Will Hermes, which details the "five years in NYC that changed music forever".
