Hey Violet Brand New Moves
Lord on stage American Music Awards 2014

There's been a lot of drama in the past 48 hours over the vile behaviour of former X Factor judges Natalia Kills and Willy Moon. The married couple tore into New Zealand contestant Joe Irvine following his performance on the first live show, accusing him of ripping off Moon's style - because he was wearing a suit.

But while the internet has mostly been ablaze in a rage against the couple, quickly turning Natalia's rant into a meme, most have overlooked the most important person in this debacle - Joe. Y'know, the person the vitriol was directed at. That guy.

Joe has been manning his own Twitter since the tense weekend show, thanking people for their support and retweeting words of encouragement. He even showed off a little gift he got from a fellow New Zealander; a box of cupcakes and a heartfelt note from Lorde.

Adorable, right?

Joe's apparently a little new to Twitter, though; he sent Lorde a sweet and enthusiastic message of thanks - but failed to include her name anywhere in the Tweet.

Well, we can hope that she saw it.

Lorde's not the only celebrity in Joe's corner, either; even Ed Sheeran took to Twitter to offer his encouragement.

And Ellie Goulding had some sass to offer up, before redacting it a little later...

Former X Factor UK winner James Arthur even threatened to travel to New Zealand to help Joe sort out his bullies, before joining the chorus of support.

Hopefully with all the support he has behind him, Joe will go all the way in the series. At least he knows he can keep being himself; though, he might want to change his Twitter name. Y'know, just a bit.
