So, y'know that show about the girl with the shaved head and the big monster thing from another dimension? Yeah well, you better start packing a bag of eggo waffles and getting the fuck out of here asap because it turns out it's all true. Kinda.
As Stranger Things fans will recall, Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, opens a portal to another dimension called The Upside Down. It's like Earth but darker, colder and scarier, mainly because the blood-thirsty Demogorgon lives there. The portal is overseen by the menacing Department of Energy, who really need to get their sh*t together, if we're being honest.
Well it turns out that The Upside Down could be a real. At least, that what Ernest Moniz, the US Secretary of Energy, is saying. *Screams*
Appearing on US TV's Chelsea talk show, Moniz was asked by Chelsea Handler if his department, similar to that on the show, has anything to disclose on the possibility of a parallel universe like the Upside-Down.
"I can tell you first of all that I’ve never see [the show], but I am aware of it", he replied. "Secondly, I believe this fictional [Department Of Energy] laboratory was operating in the 1980s, you can draw any inference you wish from that. Third, I would note that we do work in parallel universes."
Moniz went on to explain the science behind how parallel universes could exist but then my head started hurt from all the science. Like, how do we know this is true? We barely passed our Physics exams at school and we're still trying to get our head round that Higgs Boson particle that was discovered last year or whatever the eff it was called.
