It's been a curious year for the Ryden ship. After what seems like a deathly silence between Ryan and Brendon for many years, this happened. The internet practically melted and so did our hearts. Does this mean there is hope of a reunion? Or, much more importantly, could Ryden rekindle their love? JUST IMAGINE.
But we've felt lost at sea for some time now. What should you do to fill the emotional void caused by the split of two of your faves? You create a super emotional playlist that soundtracks their relationship and it's eventual demise. *sobs*
Prepare the tissues, bbz! This one is gonna be a tearjerker!
1) The All American Rejects - "Dirty Little Secret"
We think this one is pretty self-explanatory.
2) The Cranberries - "Linger"
New love can be a tumultuous thing, particularly if one of both of you are seeing someone else (*coughSceneQueenscough*). This song pretty much sums it up: "But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you. You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha. Do you have to let it linger?"
3) Usher - "Climax"
This song doubles up as a heartbreaking realisation of the limits of a relationship and the ultimate sex-jam. We can imagine Ryden vibing by an open fire to this song, tucking in to a family bucket of chicken wings, just generally living their best lives.
4) Righteous Brothers - "Unchained Melody"
Not long after Ryan left the band, Brendon posted the lyrics to this song on his twitter. Clearly he was hurting from the fallout. We feel your pain, Brendon. Truly, madly, deeply.
"oh, my love, my darling. i've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time."— Brendon Urie (@brendonurie) September 7, 2009
5) Meat Loaf - "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)"
Rumours still circulate about why they split. Was it purely "musical differences" or was it something else? Ryan's coke habit? New partners? Idk. Something obviously had to give. At some point a line was crossed and they couldn't do it anymore. No one understands this more than Meat Loaf. Perhaps yourself for 7 minutes and 44 seconds of emotional devastation.
6) Mariah Carey - "We Belong Together"
Possibly the greatest ballad of all time. This song is about regretting a break-up and Mariah just nails it. We often find ourselves sobbing along to this one, praying into our Ryden shrine, wondering how it all went wrong. Funnily enough, this video was uploaded to YouTube just a couple of weeks before Ryan left Panic. I wonder if he sought solace from this video, too?
7) Pink - "Please Don't Leave Me"
Just gonna leave these lyrics here: "I forgot to say out loud. How beautiful you really are to me. I can't be without. You're my perfect little punching bag, and I need you. I'm sorry."
8) Aerosmith - "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"
Excuse us while we die of an attack of the feels.
9) The Cardigans - "Lovefool"
Another post-split lyric tweet by Brendon. Reading these again is like pouring salt into an open wound. Someone save us from ourselves!
love me, love me. say that you love me. i can't care about anything but you.— Brendon Urie (@brendonurie) June 23, 2009
10) Panic! At The Disco - "Hallelujah"
Because it's about Ryden. Obviously.
