Kendrick is back. No, really. Kendrick is really really back. Yesterday he premiered his latest single "The Blacker The Berry" and, in every sense of the word, it is fire.

"The Blacker The Berry" is significantly darker than his last offering, 'i'. The beat isn’t overly produced; in fact, it might be the most basic beat heard in mainstream rap for some time. The vibe feels distinctly West Coast during the early 2000s and Kendrick fuels this by battling his way from verse to verse.

Aggressive and, in a lot of ways, a protest song, Kendrick Lamar grapples with perception—not only of himself but as an African American man.

The roll out for the track was unusual, to say the least. He allowed Empire star Taraji P Henson to tweet the track before he did.

This can only mean one thing. The Kendrick album is probably finished! We're ready Kendrick.
