It's been a long time coming for self proclaimed "gangster Nancy Sinatra", Lana Del Rey. Slowly, but surely, she has left a steady trail of bread crumbs for us to follow leading up to her next release--September's Honeymoon.
Film soundtracks, a musical contribution to HBO's Girls, and the casual snippet has prepped fans for the September release. Lana shared the titular track from the album, along with lyrics, and a photograph of her friend and collaborator Rick Nowels.
The snippet highlights a track that hasn't strayed too far from Lana's roots, yet feels slightly more aged. Tightly wound harmonies accompanied by stringed instruments recall her last 3 albums, especially Ultraviolence.
Lana has gone the unusual route of declining to release music three months prior to her release. But, as they say: where there's smoke, there's fire. We may be treated to a full track sooner rather than later.
