The 1975 were triumphant at last night's Q Awards in London (November 2nd), taking home the award for best album after an extensive fan vote.
However, as the band are currently on tour across the US, they couldn't be there in person to collect their prize. Fortunately, Matty Healy came up with an appropriate alternative - filming an acceptance speech while riding backwards across the moshpit. As you do.
This is how all rockstars should accept their awards isn't it? Plus big shout out to the girl at the end of the clip who got to touch Matty and straight up loses her sh*t. We've all been there.
As he mentions in the video, Matty and the boys were also nominated for Best Act In The World Today, losing out to Muse at the ceremony at London's Roundhouse venue. Other winners included Bastille who took home the Best Track award for "Good Grief" and U2 who won Best Live Act. Special awards were also given to Meat Loaf and Blondie for their contributions to the world of music.
The 1975 will return to the UK this December for a full arena tour including two nights at London's O2 Arena.
