Reading Festival 2013

Soundwave, the legendary Aussie pop punk heavy festival, has been forced to cancel it's 2016 dates due to low ticket sales. And now, it has been revealed that over 50 of the acts that played this year's festival in February are still waiting to be paid.

Leaked documents from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission state what money creditors believe Soundwave acts are still owed.

Among them are Fall Out Boy who are awaiting $394,107.14 to be exact, and All Time Low who are still owed over $141,000.

Furthermore, while it had been reported that BMTH were lined up for next year's now cancelled dates, the band have since claimed that they were never actually officially booked for the shows.

To make matters worse, there are reports on Twitter that Eventopia, the company behind next year's tickets, are refusing refunds to ticket holders for some as yet unknown reason.

It is sad to see this festival die out like this, having run in Oz for 12 years and supported a great deal of up and coming rock and pop punk acts, playing host over the years to the likes of Green Day, The Offspring, Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World to name a few.

Organiser AJ Maddah tweeted the following:
