Death Team Messed Up
JK Rowling and Baby Harry Potter

If you thought you'd have to wait until Fantastic Beats And Where To Find Them to return to the wizarding world, think again; Author J.K. Rowling has just dropped some Ridikkulus news about the long-awaited adapted Harry Potter stage play on her Twitter.

The first Harry Potter novel was published 18 years ago today (woohoo!)

And J.K. used the anniversary to drop some HUGE news about the play.

That's right, we officially have a title!

First announced in 2013, the stage play was supposedly set to share "the previously untold story of Harry Potter’s early years as an orphan and outcast...[offering] a unique insight into the heart and mind of the now legendary young wizard".

Plans for this particular story may have changed, however, as Rowling insists that Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is "not a prequel":

But with a name like "the Cursed Child", we can assume that it will still have something to do with young/baby Harry, following his survival of Lord Voldemort's attempted Killing Curse.

While fans are ecstatic, some are asking the obvious question - "why not make it a book?"

But according to the writer, this play will apparently have some tricks up its sleeve that a novel just couldn't pull off.

In Rowling We Trust; and also in Jack Thorne, John Tiffany and Sonia Friedman, who are the author's "dream team" for making the play happen.

The play will debut on London's West End in summer of 2016.
