Guitarist Ruptures Testicle During Set

In possibly the greatest example of being PURE METAL, rock guitarist Otto Schimmelpenninck finished a great set with his band - after taking a streamer cannon shot to the groin, apparently rupturing one of his testicles.

The bassist, from Dutch metal band 'Delain', was taken to hospital immediately after finishing the set with the band, where doctors removed 500ml of blood from his swollen scrotum.

The incident happened during the band's gig at the O2 Academy in Birmingham last week. Due to having an extra band member on stage, Otto moved to stand in front of a large streamer cannon, which went off during the climax of their song "The Gathering" - right into Otto's groin.

Like a true champion Otto carried on the show, though he described the increasing pain and feeling of bleeding as "one of the most unpleasant adventures I’ve ever had to endure". He's currently recovering at home.

The offense in question happens around 3:30 in the video below. Notice how he barely even registers.

That's metal.
