Florence And The Machine Dog Days Are Over
Chris Hadfield - Space Oddity

Some of us fell in love with Commander Chris Hadfield when he started posting his view of the Earth from space to his Tumblr (that's right, don't panic, they do have Tumblr in space); but it was his zero-gravity cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" that set the world below alight.

And now, back on terra firma and comfortably retired, Commander Hadfield is planning on bringing more music to us from the final frontier. Yep, the former astronaut has announced the upcoming release of his debut album, which will feature vocal and guitar tracks that he recorded whilst onboard the International Space Station in 2013.

Seriously, the first ever album recorded in space. When has your fave ever?

"The serenity and grace I felt while orbiting our Earth, weightless by the window, gave a whole new place to write and perform music," he told Digital Spy. "I'm delighted to be able to share these completed works as a new way to help tell the stories of early space exploration."

With touted special guests such as the Barenaked Ladies, we are incredibly psyched to hear the final result. Until then, let's all join hands and enjoy Hadfield's "Space Oddity" cover again.
